The broadcast quality digitized analog video/audio
transmitter or receiver provides the cable operator or broadcaster
with the ability to continue operating in the analog realm with
short-haul quality while broadcasting that content in a digitized
format. The ability to insert six audio channels into the digitized
analog video stream satisfies FCC requirements, providing “must
carry” and SAP audio channels while giving broadcasters and
cable operators the added capability of supporting venues that
provide surround sound.

The SDI/DVB-ASI digital video transmitter or receiver modules
provides the broadcaster or cable operator the ability to transport
either serial digital video or ASI digital video. SDI video
is fully compliant with SMPTE 259M specifications and operates
at 270 Mb/s. The module is fully capable of transporting one
SDI video stream with its associated embedded audio. When transporting
DVB-ASI digital video, the module operates at a clock rate of
270 MHz and can accept any data rate from 19.4 - 213 Mb/s. The
module will accept either video format without any user configuration.

The SMPTE 310M module provides a state-of- the-art digital
transport solution for broadcasters with studio-to-tower or
studio-to-studio applications. The SMPTE 310M digital video
module provides the end user with the ability to simultaneously
transport two independent channels of 19.4 Mb/s compressed
serial digital video. Each of the channels accept one fully
compliant SMPTE 310M serial digital video input at 19.4 Mb/s.
A six-channel module is also available for high density broadcast
links. Module status and configurations are available from
the Model 3762 optical terminal front panel LCD interface.

The SMPTE 310M to ASI conversion module allows the
user to easily convert SMPTE 310M video format signals into
DVB/ASI video format signals. The transmitter accepts a single
19.4 Mb/s SMPTE 310M digital video input and performs an on-the-fly
format conversion, allowing the receiver module to output a
DVB-ASI signal. The conversion process is fully automatic, and
no setup or configuration is required.

The Model 3762 has been created with a compact removable
and replaceable internal power supply, assuring instant system
recovery.
