has meant that installation of DS3 capacity can require expensive
new enclosures and powering systems. Prevailing fiber solutions
are either exorbitantly expensive or limited to point-to-point
rather than efficient drop-and-continue topologies. And, future
growth has been limited by big up-front equipment investments
or products that are limited to support of just 3 DS3s.
