| Cost-effective,
compact and easy to deploy, our standard Type 200™ WDM-1
and WDM-2 Wavelength Division Multiplexing Couplers work hand-in-glove
with O3D3 and O3-3D3 transport modules, offering a simple
“Plug-and-Play” solution for overcoming fiber
exhaustion, expanding existing network capability, and deferring
the cost of additional fiber deployment.
Wave Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology allows two separate
payloads (conventional 1310nm as well as 1550nm wavelength
optics) to be carried over a single fiber, doubling available
bandwidth. Traditionally, WDM Couplers have been available
in basic packages - usually a metal tube with delicate fiber
strands exiting each end - but easily broken strands, and
a coupler body that is hard to mount have made network deployment
difficult. In response, some vendors have offered coupler
bodies with screw mounting tabs and heavy-duty fiber leads,
or couplers mounted inside bulky metal boxes. Less than ideal,
these solutions require custom mounting configurations and
additional application engineering to install the coupler
and route the leads.
Available in Single (WDM-1) and Dual Coupler (WDM-2) versions,
our plug-and-play WDM Couplers overcome these issues. A Standard
Type 200™ mechanics form factor eliminates expensive,
complicated and bulky mounting “work arounds”
that lack universal installation flexibility. Pulsecom's WDM
Couplers also feature robust, SC bulkhead connectors for fiber
connections so there's no need to splice on connectors. Most
importantly, our WDM Couplers are designed to work “hand-in-glove”
with all O3D3, O3-3D3 and O3-3D3P transport modules, each
with Wideband Optical Receivers capable of receiving 1310nm
or 1550nm wavelengths. The WDM-2 may also be deployed with
the three DS3 O3-3D3P with integral fiber protection switching
for ultra-compact Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance
over a single pair of fibers. |
