The
slide valve Metal Detector is used for the location of concealed
valves, hydrant covers or other metal parts up to a depth of 18
inches and more, depending on the size of the object. This fully
transistorized electronic instrument has a very high sensitivity,
combined with simple operation and a robust design.
By virtue of its purely electronic-electromagnetic function, the
instrument can do without the use of permanent magnets, thus eliminating
aging effects that these magnets are subject to.
The Metal Detector is a compact one-hand operation instrument with
built-in loudspeaker.
After
setting the tuning knob and the column, the instrument is to be
conducted in close proximity to the ground. A buried slide valve
or piece of metal causes a distortion on the magnetic field of the
search coil, which is indicated by a clear acoustic signal in the
loudspeaker or the headphones resp. Large areas can be reliably
covered in a normal walking pace without much effort, even at night.
A special feature of the Metal Detector is that once it is tuned
prior to starting work, it does not require any readjustment, independent
of the type of soil (earth, asphalt, grass etc,).
The current consumption of the electronic circuits is so low that
a commercial 9 volt battery suffices for several months of normal
operation. |
